Abstract

Background: Infant Mortality Rate in the world as many as 4 million of 136 million babies under the age 28 days die each year. In Indonesia there were 19 neonatal deaths per live birth and maternal mortality rate 228 per 100,000 live births caused by Tetanus Neonatorum. This study aimed to analyze the factors that influence the status of Tetanus Toxoid immunization in Indonesia (Analysis of IFLS Secondary Data 2014). Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study design. The data was used by IFLS secondary data 2014 with population 39,959 people and sample of 3,214 respondents in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis used univariate, bivariate, and multivariate using complex sample multiple logistic regression prediction model. Results: The results showed that there were a correlation between age variable, education level, employment status, family economic status, ANC visit, and residence area against TT immunization status, while parity variables wasn’t related to TT immunization status in Indonesia. The most dominant factor in TT immunization status was ANC visit (PR: 3,834 95% CI: 2,844-5,167). Conclusions: Factors affecting TT immunization status were age, education, employment status, family economic status, ANC visit and residence area. The ANC visit was the most dominant factor affecting the immunization status of TT after it was controled by employment status and residence area variables. Pregnant women should pay more attention to pregnancy by visiting health care to get TT immunization so that avoid Tetanus Neonatorum disease.
