Abstract

This research discusses the strategy of the Indonesian government in encouraging the textile industry sector and textile products in Indonesia after the ratification of the ASEAN Economic Community. In this era of globalization, competition in global and regional markets is very competitive, a condition that requires Indonesia to place itself in a position that has opportunities and obstacles going forward. The ASEAN Regional Region, in which all members have agreed on the formation of the MEA (ASEAN Economic Community) policy The government must prepare several strategies to encourage the TPT industrial sector to maximize the potential of the AEC. There are a lot of preparations that must be made to maximize the free market that exists in the ASEAN region; therefore, the Indonesian government's strategy, especially in maximizing the potential of natural resources and human resources, must be aligned and improved so that it can continue to compete every year and not be left behind by other countries that have potential in the same industry. In this study, it was found that there was a strategy that was not on target for maximizing the AEC to encourage the textile industry sector Keyword : AEC, Textile Industry, Strategy of the government of Indonesia
