Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of BPSK Palembang City in handling and resolving consumer disputes. This research is motivated by a situation where there is a consumer phenomenon that tends to be the object of business activity from business actors to get the maximum benefit from the use and utilization of the goods and/or services they have provided, causing the position between consumers and business actors to become unequal.. Such a situation results in the emergence of disputes or disputes between consumers and business actors, so the government provides alternative methods of resolving consumer disputes outside the court which can be reached through BPSK. This research was conducted to see how the performance of BPSK Palembang City in handling and resolving consumer disputes, this research used a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that BPSK Palembang City's performance in handling and resolving consumer disputes has not gone well enough, because there are still constraints on human resources, information, policies or rules, and funding on the input dimension. The output dimension shows an increase in consumer dispute cases from the previous year. Medium-term activity activities are still absent in the results dimension. The dimensions of the benefits are in accordance with the ultimate goal in implementing activities, namely based on UUPK. In the dimensions of the impact of the existence of the Palembang City BPSK, the big impact has not been felt, the lack of outreach to the community has caused very few cases to come in, even though its application is increasing from year to year.
