Abstract

PT. Prima Mulia Sarana Sejahtera is a coal mining company. During the mining process, it was seen that in several segments of the haul road there was scattered or falling coal. The coal will not be taken or collected again because it has been mixed/contaminated with the soil which is part of the haul roads. This is part of coal losses. Coal losses is the process of loss of coal that occurs during the mining process, both when transporting coal from pit up to the port. Happening coal losses resulted in not all the coal mined being transported to the stockpile, and this will result in losses for the company. The purpose of this research is to calculate the potential number coal losses on coal hauling activities in January 2023 and the causative factors as well as the efforts made so that coal losses can be minimized. Percentage of coal transport that enters through Stockpile Scales in January 2023 at 98.73%. So that indicates there is coal losses by 1.27% (535.20 tons). Causal factors coal losses that is the position of how to fill coal into the vessel is incorrect, filling of coal exceeds capacity vessel dump truck, potholes and bumpy road conditions, large roads grade and winding roads, as well driver driving too fast, as well as the size of the coal in the vessel is not uniform. Efforts that can be made to minimize the occurrence coal losses including the position of how to fill coal into the vessel starts from the back, then the middle and the front, filling coal not exceeding capacity vessel dump truck, routine repair of haul roads ie grade roads and bends as well as on potholes and bumpy roads, there is regular training and tighter supervision of driver dump truck, as well as the uniformity of the size of the coal inside vessel.
