Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Non Performing Loans (NPL), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) on Return On Equity Banks (ROE) in ASEAN countries. Secondary data is used in the form of a combination of cross sections and time series for the period 2008 - 2022 and covers 6 ASEAN countries. The data obtained comes from the Federal Reserve Economic Data and the World Bank. Descriptive data analysis was carried out using the technique used in this study using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) and the data was processed using E-Views. Based on the findings of the Non Performing Loan (NPL) and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) results, they have a significant negative effect on the Return On Equity of Banks (ROE). Meanwhile, Net Interest Margin (NIM) has a significant positive effect on Return On Equity (ROE). Simultaneously, the results show that Non-Performing Loans (NPL), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) have an effect on Banks' Return On Equity (ROE).
