Abstract

The purposes of this study are: 1) To identify the visitor characteristics of Pulau Semambu Agro Tourism 2) To identify community perceptions of the socioeconomic impact of Pulau Semambu Agro Tourism, 3) To develop a development Strategy Pulau Semambu Agrotourism.The research was conducted in the Pulau Semambu Village, Inderalaya Utara Sub-district, Ogan Ilir Regency. The site was chosen intentionally. Data collection been conducted in March to May 2019. The method used in this study was a survey method. The results showed that the visitor characteristics of Pulau Semambu Agro Tourism was dominated by the age 17-29 years with the purpose increasing knowledge. Most of it was the first visit with a preference for visits to try new things with the costs incurred around Rp.50,000 to Rp.150,000. Community perceptions of the socio-economic impact Pulau Semambu Agro Tourism are in the medium criteria 11.5 with 7.70 for business opportunity indicators and 3.80 for income improvement indicators. Score of analysis internal matrix 2,4207 and external matrix 2,7223 show that Pulau Semambu agrotourism is in a stable condition to carry out the generally strategies applied. Based on the SWOT analysis produced 7 alternative strategies with market penetration and product development preferences. Keyword : Socio-economic impact, Development Strategy, Agroturism
