Abstract

Background : On the female reproductive period, NOK disease is most often found. Neoplasm Ovarium Kistik (NOK) can be surgically removed by laparotomy. Laparotomy is a surgery that causes severe pain intensity on postoperative patients. Nursing interventions that can be done to reduce postoperative pain are benson relaxation therapy. Aim : This study was aimed to apply the nursing care process in post Neoplasm Ovarium Kistik (NOK) surgery. Methods : This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach in Neoplasm Ovarium Kistik (NOK) postoperative patients. Results : There were seven nursing problems in postoperative Neoplasm Ovarium Kistik (NOK) and the main nursing problem is pain. Non�pharmacological treatments that can be given to reduce pain are benson relaxation therapy and the results showed that pain has decreased by 4-5 scales. Discussion : Focus on the pain experience toward the management of the benson relaxation therapy so that the oxygen supply in the brain increase can relax. A relaxed brain will reducing the intensity of the pain patients. Conclusion : Benson relaxation therapy is effective in reducing pain both subjective and objective symptoms experienced by patients.
