Abstract

This research focuses on discussing the role and factors behind the role of teachers and parents in training student independence at SD Xaverius 2 Palembang. The problem ofindependence in children needs to be addressed so that children can carry out activitieswithout having to always depend on their parents. The aim of the research is to analyze andunderstand the role of teachers and parents. The research method used is descriptivequalitative with case studies. This research uses theory. Data was s btained from 10informants through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results showthat the role of teachers and parents in forming student independence is to provide guidance,direct, provide opportunities, provide concrete examples, as a motivator and facilitator.Meanwhile, the factors behind student independence at SD Xaverius 2 Palembang arelearning curriculum factors, learning method factors, school extracurricular factors,parental parenting style factors and facilities and infrastructure factors.
