Abstract
Naturally, oil palm plants are symbiotic with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (FMA). Oil palm plants are classified as plants that are highly dependent on FMA because their roots don’t have a root hairs. Arbuscular mycorrhizal is an association between fungi and plantroots, found in most ecosystems that connect plants with the rhizosphere. Arbuscular mycorrhizal is a soil microorganism that functions to help growth, increase productivity and quality of oil palm plants, especially those planted on marginal lands. The aim of this research to calculate the population and analyze the genus of arbuscular mycorrhizal spores in the rhizosphere of oil palm by evaluating its correlation with moisture content, temperature, pH and soil Corganic in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research was conducted from March to June 2023 on oil palm land in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir. The research was conducted using exploratory descriptive method and sampling using purposive sampling method. The research data were analyzed with simple linear, multiple linear, and quadratic correlation regression tests. The results showed that the population of arbuscular mycorrhizal spores at the sampling location in an experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University was normally distributed. The genus of arbuscular mycorrhizal spores included Glomus sp., Gigaspora sp., Acauluspora sp., dan Sclerocystis sp. Water content, temperature, pH and Soil C-organic influenced the arbuscular mycorrhiza population by 77%.
