Abstract
Research on SiO2-ZrP with EDTA template synthesized by calcination, impregnation and hydrothermal methods for its application in the dehydration process of isopropyl alcohol to diisopropyl ether. Based on the results of the XRD characterization of the SiO2-ZrP catalyst, variations in 1 hour, 3 hours and 5 hours of calcination had an amorphous phase characterized by a widened peak. However, 5 hours of calcination showed the best crystallinity, because the narrower the FWHM of the difactogram peak, the more crystalline the catalyst. FT-IR results of SiO2-ZrP catalysts, where there was only a slight shift in wave number in the respective FT-IR spectra at variations in catalyst calcination time. The results of the acidity analysis indicated that the catalyst at 1 hour calcination time had more acid sites than the catalyst at 5 hour calcination time. So that the more ammonia or pyridine is absorbed, the catalyst has more active sites. GC-MS results obtained 1 hour calcination time product selectivity 74.4% and 5 hour calcination product selectivity 64.25%, this shows the higher the selectivity of the catalyst, the dehydration product produces diisopropyl ether more effectively and has good catalytic properties. Penelitian SiO2-ZrP dengan template EDTA yang disintesis dengan metode kalsinasi, impregnasi dan hidrotermal untuk aplikasinya pada proses dehidrasi isopropil alkohol menjadi diisopropil eter. Berdasarkan hasil karakterisasi XRD Katalis SiO2-ZrP variasi waktu kalsinasi 1 jam, 3 jam dan 5 jam memiliki fase amorf yang ditandai dengan puncak yang melebar. Namun pada waktu kalsinasi 5 jam menunjukkan kristalinitas paling baik, dikarenakan semakin sempit FWHM puncak difaktogram maka katalis semakin bersifat kristal. Hasil FT-IR katalis SiO2-ZrP, dimana hanya sedikit pergeseran bilangan gelombang pada spektra FT- IR masing-masing pada variasi waktu kalsinasi katalis. Hasil Analisa keasaman menandakan bahwa pada katalis pada waktu kalsinasi 1 jam memiliki situs asam lebih banyak dibanding katalis pada waktu kalsinasi 5 jam. Sehingga semakin banyak ammonia atau piridin terserap, maka katalis memiliki situs aktif yang lebih banyak. Hasil GC-MS didapatkan waktu kalsinasi 1 jam selektivitas produk 74,4% dan pada waktu kalsinasi 5 jam selektivitas produk 64,25%, hal ini menunjukkan semakin tinggi selektivitas pada katalis maka produk dehidrasi menghasilkan diisopropil eter lebih efektif dan memiliki sifat katalitik yang baik.
