Abstract
This research aimed at getting nutrient efficient coms lines cycle 2, which had the best yields and growth after given low dosage Chemical fertilizer in marginal dry land. This research was done ffom July 2013 to October 2013 in AgroTechnoPark (ATP), Ministry of Research and Technology, Bakung Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatera. This research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 58 treatments and 3 repetitions. The treatments were in the forms of 58 com genotypes consisting of 54 nutrient efficient com lines cycle 2, 3 primary lines cycle 1 (B41, S201 and L164), and hybrid coms (Pioneer) as the comparison. The results showed that B41 lines were efficient when given low dosage fertilizer in marginal dry land. The yields B41 com lines were not much different from hybrid coms. The average yields of B41 com lines were the highest of all other lines. The entry numbers of com lines cycle 2 of every population having the yields above the maximum were B41 (A40, A37), S201 (B 17, B29, B14) and L164 (C3, C36, C51)
