Abstract
This research aims to determine ehether there is an impact caused by tea leaf extract as a cooling mediun in the quenching process on the corrosion rate. This type of research is experimental research, where ST41 steel is treated to see what impacts occur. In this study, st41 steel was given heat treatment ( quenching ) using tea leaf ectract cooling media, 5 specimens were used a different concentration of cooling medis solution, and obtained the results that tea leaf extract had an impact in influenching the rate of corrosion, where specimen 5 which used 12 % tea leaf extract had a faster corrosion rate compared to specimen 1 which was not trated with a lw corrosion rate. So the conclusion is that the quenching process using tea leaf extract cooling media has an effect on the rate of corrosion that occurs
