Abstract

Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) merupakan hama invasif baru di pertanaman jagung Indonesia yang menyebabkan kerugian yang relative besar oleh serangan S.frugiperda. Pada saat jagung di fase awal vegetatif sangat rentan terserang oleh S. frugiperda. S. frugiperda menggerek bagian batang,daun,dan tongkol jagung sehingga menyebabkan tanaman jagung rebah pada fase vegetatif dan tongkol jagung kehilangan nilai ekonomis pada fase generatif. S. frugiperda mempunyai tingkat toleransi yang tinggi terhadap insektisida.S. frugiperda sering kali dilakukan pengendalian oleh petani dengan cara penyemprotan pestisida sintetik yang memiliki efek samping bagi kesehatan lingkungan serta dapat menimbulkan resistensi hama sasaran sehingga dapat menyebabkan ledakan hama dikemudia hari. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji patogenesitas dan kemampuan jamur endofit dalam menghambat pertumbuhan dan perkembangan S. frugiperda generasi kedua dengan perlakuan seed treatment pada generasi kesatu, yang dirancang menurut Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 21 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan.
