Abstract
Waste has become one of the significant environmental problems around the world. The Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) model design can solve the transportation of garbage in Pulau Semambu Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. This model design is solved using the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm. Pulau Semambu Village has 6 hamlets with every 2 hamlets grouped into 1 Working Area (WK) and each WK has 4 Temporary Disposal Sites (TDS). The purpose of this research is to determine the optimal route and distance for garbage transportation in each WK of Semambu Island Village by implementing the results of the ABC algorithm and then comparing it with previous research with the Genetic Algorithm (GA). The optimal route and distance obtained with the ABC Algorithm is for WK 1 with the route TPA Palem Raya to TDS 2 Dusun 1 to TDS 1 Dusun 1 to TDS 2 Dusun 2 to TDS 1 Dusun 2 then back to TPA Palem Raya with a total distance of 13.33 km. For WK 2 with the route of TPA Palem Raya to TDS 2 Dusun 5 to TDS 1 Dusun 5 to TDS 2 Dusun 4 to TDS 1 Dusun 4 then back to TPA Palem Raya with a total distance of 16.2 km. For WK 3 with the route of Palem Raya Landfill to TPS 2 Dusun 6 to TDS 2 Dusun 3 to TDS 1 Dusun 3 to TDS 1 Dusun 6 then back to Palem Raya Landfill with a total distance of 15.97 km.
