Abstract
Recirculation system is one of the effort to resolve the decreasing of water quality on aquaculture. Filter is the part of recirculation system that have a role to filter the materials. The using of biological filter with used the water jasmine can give the function as the filter and also can be as the media for microorganism that can decompose the organic materials. This research was conducted in Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Department of Aquaculture, Sriwijaya University from May to July 2017. This research was conducted for 28 days with Completely Randomized Design, 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were P0 (without addition of the gravel and the water jasmine), P1 (addition of the gravel without the water jasmine, P2 (addition of the gravel and the 100g water jasmine), P3 (addition of the gravel and the 150g water jasmine) and P4 (addition of the gravel and the 200g water jasmine). The parameters were water quality, survival rate, absolute growth of angelfish, total microorganism from the roots of water jasmine and feed efficiency. The results showed that the P0 gave the lowest survival rate 44,45% with pH value 5,7-6,9, temperature 27,3-29,2ºC, dissolved oxygen at the end rearing 5,17 mg L-1, ammonia 0,009-0,020 mg L-1, nitrate 0,06-0,10 mg L-1, phosphate 0,105-0,016 mg L-1, the absolute length growth 1,56±0,26 cm, the absolute weight growth 1,47±0,34 g and the feed efficiency 40,54±2,54%.
