Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran self-compassion terhadap fear of negative evaluation pada wanita dewasa awal yang mengalami obesitas. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat peran self-compassion terhadap fear of negative evaluation. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah 150 wanita dewasa awal yang mengalami obesitas di Indonesia. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur variabel fear of negative evaluation adalah Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale yang dikembangkan oleh Watson dan Friend (1969), sedangkan untuk mengukur variabel self-compassion digunakan skala psikologi yang disusun sendiri oleh peneliti dengan mengacu pada komponen self-compassion Neff (2003a; 2011). Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan data nilai R square antara self-compassion dan fear of negative evaluation sebesar 0,542, nilai F sebesar 174,976, dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p<0,005). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa self-compassion memiliki peran yang signifikan terhadap fear of negative evaluation. Dengan demikian hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima.
