Abstract

This research aim are 1) to identify the information media sources that are used by farmer in doing Hawaii papaya harvesting 2) to measure the farmer adoption level conceming the Hawaii papaya harvesting at Tanjung Seteko village 3)to describe the information media sources influorice conceming the innovate adoption Hawaii papaya harvesting at Tanjung Seteko village. This research is done at Tanjung Seteko village. The data collecting are done in February and March 2007, based on 2005-2006 narvesting season. The colleting data on this research consist of the drimary and the secondary. The sampling method is census to the “Serasan Sekato”. The information source that is used on Hawaii Papaya Harvesting in Tanjung Seteko Village comes ffom direct source of an Extension Agent (PPL), contact farmers, other farmers and indirect source such as television and label. In harvesting information that is delivered to the farmer in the form of the reaping fruit characteristics such as the fruit stalk easy to break, at the fruit there is egg yolk yellow colour, the fruit sap is watery and transparent. The Hawaii Papaya harvesting process using farmers hands and spear. To get the good quality of the fruits, we should harvest that fruit when they have the same shape and size, not mushy and rotten, and the skin of that fruit is slippery. The indicator of the reaping fruit characteristic with the average score 2,6 on criteria height, then the second indicator of the harvesting way Hawaii Papaya the avarage score is 2,6 on height criteria. The third indicator the avarage score is 2,7 on height criteria, the fourth indicator is 2,5 on height criteria.
