Abstract
The research objective was to design and to assemble a control system for soil water content and soil temperature automatically using microcontroller DEBBY HERTANTO. ATmegal6. The method used in this research consisted of equipment design and equipment testing. Set point used in this research was soil water content in the range of 20% to 40% and soil temperature in the range of 30°C to 35°C. The results were presented in tables and graphs. The measured parameters were accuracy, soil water content, soil temperature and power requirements. The results showed that sensor measurement system worked well according to programming system in which the equipment working at soil temperature of > 35°C or soil water content of < 20% that indicated by a red’s LED tum on. The results of t-testing on significance level a = 5% showed that there was no difference between the average value of soil water content measurements in laboratory and soil water content measurements using equipment test. The average error of LM35 sensor for soil temperature was 0.8°C and the average error soil moisture sensor SEN0114 was 3.8%.
