Abstract

Lightweight concrete has a density that ranges from 1.440-1.840 kg/m3 compared to normal concrete with a density of about 2.240-2.400 kg/m3. The materials used in this research are cement, water, foam agent and glass powder. This research uses variations of water cement ratio 0,4; 0,5; and 0,6 with 30% glass powder, foam and slurry ratio of 0,35: 0,65 and 1: 40 for foam agent and water. In this study, fresh concrete testing was carried out consisting of setting time test and slump flow test, as well as hard concrete testing in the form of specific gravity, compressive strength, and sorptivity. Based on the test, it was found that the maximum sorptivity value occurred at w/c 0,6 of 0,002337 mm/s1/2 due to the optimum porosity of 24,873%. The minimum sorptivity occurred at w/c 0,4 of 0,002068 mm/s1/2 with porosity of 17,202%. Sorptivity results are inversely proportional to the compressive strength, where the minimum compressive strength is obtained at w/c 0,6 of 2,440 MPa. Sorptivity has a directly proportional relationship with setting time, slump flow, and specific gravity. Test specimens with w/c 0,6 have the highest results in all those tests compared to w/c variations of 0,4 and 0,5. The test specimen with w/c 0,6 obtained the initial setting time and final setting time for 260 minutes and 520 minutes, as well as a workability of 67,452%. In addition, the specific gravity obtained in the 0,6 w/c specimen on the 1st and 28th days was 1077,1 kg/m3 and 1197,1 kg/m3.
