Abstract

This research was conducted in Palembang city of South Sumatera Province. The objective of this research were to identiiy factors that is inlluencing production, consumption, and price of com in South Sumatera, and identify the dominant factor that is influencing production and demand of com in South Sumatera. This research were used secondary data (in time-series data) and worked in SAS-ETS Computer program. The result shows that whole estimation models of South Sumatera com Supply and demand by using Three Stage Least squares (3 SLS) method, have coefficient of determination (R-Squares System) 0,9831. From F-test statistics shows that according to the simultanous independent variables together influence significantly to the dependent variables at a level same as 30 percent. Meanwhile based on the t-test statistics, there are three independent variables wasn’t influence com supply and demand in South Sumatera. Com production in South Sumatera are influences by com harvest area, com productivity, com price, fertilizer price, rainfall, com seed price, and com production a year before. The dominant variable is com price of South Sumatera. Com demand in South Sumatera are influences by com price (ratio com price this year with com price a year before), rice price, people income, population (difference population this year with population a year before), com consumption in South Sumatera a year before, and time. The dominant variable is ratio com price this year with com price a year before of South Sumatera. Com price In South Sumatera are influences by com production,com import, and com price a year before.
