Abstract
The objective of this research was to find out the influence of young coconut juice on the growth of rhizome raised young banana. This research has been conducted ffom September to December 2005 in Sukaraja Baru Village, Inderalaya, Ogan Ilir. The research was arranged in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five treatments and four replications. Each treatment consisted of four plants as sample. The parameter observed were days of bud break (days), root length (cm), root number (roots), plant height (cm), trunk circumference (cm), leaf number (leaf) and the rate of seedling growth (%/day). The result of this research showed that concentrations of young coconut juice significantly affected the days of bud break, plant height, and trunk circumference. The treatments of the concentration of young coconut juice highly significant affected the root length, while the rest of parameters were not significant. 60% young coconut juice gave best effect on the days of bud break, root length, roots number, plant height, trunk circumference, and leaves number. 80% young coconut juice gave highest rate of seedling in 4,60 %/day.
