Abstract

This literary research was conducted with the aim of describing the cultural elements contained in the novel Anak Rantau by Ahmad Fuadi using Koentjaraningrat's cultural elements in literary anthropology theory, namely language systems, knowledge systems, social systems, living equipment systems and technology, livelihood systems, religious systems, and arts and find out the implications for literary learning. This research uses qualitative research methods and approaches. The data analysis technique used is a content analysis technique so the results that appear are in the form of descriptions. The data collection techniques used are documentation techniques and literature study techniques. Qualitative research methods are used to find quotations in the novel Anak Rantau. Furthermore, from the analysis, the results obtained in the form of 71 data from the novel Anak Rantau by Ahmad Fuadi with a detailed amount, there are 7 data on language systems, 11 data on knowledge systems, 10 data on social systems, 12 data on equipment and technology systems, 15 data on livelihood systems, 9 data on religious systems, and 7 data on art. The results of this study indicate that all cultural elements according to Koentjaraningrat appear in the novel Anak Rantau by Ahmad Fuadi and can be used as literature teaching material in Indonesian language subjects at the high school level.
