Abstract
This research aims to find out how Project Based Learning shapes students' independent and creative characters at SMP Negeri 6 Indralaya Utara. This research uses a qualitative approach. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling technique with the number of informants as many as 3 people plus 1 supporting informant. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. From the research that has been conducted regarding the Analysis of Students' Independent and Creative Characters through the Project Based Learning Model at SMP Negeri 6 Indralaya Utara, the overall research results are very good, with a percentage value of 90%, although in the interview technique data there are still informants who give answers that are not optimal, such as there are students who are not very active in participating in discussions during the process of conveying ideas and ideas about projects that will be designed by students. Therefore, teachers and students need to maximize the application of the Project Based Learning model more optimally in learning activities so that students' independent and creative characters can be well formed in an effort to strengthen and achieve student competencies.
