Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VIII dalam mengerjakan soal berbentuk wacana. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VIII dalam mengerjakan soal berbentuk wacana terkategori rendah. Akan tetapi, siswa sudah mampu mengidentifikasi permasalahan dan informasi yang diperoleh dengan baik. Kemampuan siswa terkategori rendah dikarenakan siswa tidak terbiasa membaca soal yang panjang sehingga kurang teliti dan sulit memahami maksud dari wacana yang diberikan. Selain itu, kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam menguasai materi menjadi salah satu penyebab lainnya.
