Abstract
This research aims to identify extreme temperature and rainfall patterns in Lampung Province and their relationship with natural disasters of drought and flood (hydrometeorology). The data used from 1981-2022 were processed with RClimDex software to separate 27 climate indices. Mann Kendall senslope was used to test the significance of trends in extreme temperature and rainfall analysis over a period of 42 years. Results show that the region is experiencing increasing temperatures, with the hottest day/night temperatures increasing by 0.014℃-0.029℃ per decade and the coolest day/night temperatures by 3℃-4℃ per 100 years. A strong correlation between the bulk index and the DMI and Nino 3.4 indices was found with respect to CDD. Decreased rainfall and increased temperatures can trigger droughts and forest fires and can trigger flooding events due to heavy rain if there are no effective mitigation measures. The research results can be used to develop adaptation and mitigation strategies for the impacts of climate change.
