Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of plant media composition to growth of palm oil seedlings of oil palm in the main nursery. This research was executed in PT. Golden Blossom Sumatra at Abab District in Muara Enim regency in from February until July 2008, by using Randomized Block Design method (RAK) with five treatment, that is P1 ( 100% peat land soil), P2 (100% mineral land soil), P3 ( 50% peat land soil and 50% mineral land soil), P4 (25% peat land soil and 75% mineral land soil) and P5 ( 75% peat land soil and 25% mineral land soil). Each treatment consisted of five group that consisted of by 25 treatment unit within is the each unit consists of by 10 seedlings, so that in all there is 250 seedlings. Result of research indicated the plant media mix of 75% peat land soil and 25% mineral land soil tend to give the result of incremental height improvement, stem diameter, higher leaf area, root length and shoot root ratio.
