Abstract

This study was aimed to obtain packing and nursery media on the growth of R. apiculata and B. gymnorrhiza propagules. This research was conducted from October 2008 until February 2009 at the greenhouse of Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University , Indralaya. The experiment was carried out using completely randomized factorial design (RALF). With 15 combination treatment with each treatments. There were 2 types of mangrove plants, namely R. apiculata and B. gymnorrhiza. The flrst treatment was Packing (P), consists of three kinds, namely P1 (carton), P2 (Plastic), and P3 (Goni rice bag). The second treatment was nursery Media (M), consists of five kinds, namely Ml (Land), M2 (Sand), M3 (Mud), M4 (Soil + Sand), and M5 (Mud + Sand). Each treatment combinations consisted of three replications. The results showed that plastic packing of R. apiculata had the highest short growth significantly. B. gymnorrhiza seedling had significantly highest on shoot height and leaf chlorophyll content for mud nursery media treatment.
