Abstract
The number of pulmonary tuberculosis cases in Solok Regency has continued to increase over the past 2 years. Pulmonary tuberculosis is one of the diseases caused by environmental sanitation. This study aims to determine the relationship between hygiene practices and home sanitation with the incidence of Pulmonary TB in the community in Solok Regency. This study used analytic observation with case control study design, and simple random sampling technique. The sample size was 1:2 ratio for each sample in the case group 43 and control group 86. This study used chi-square test and multiple logistic regression. Based on the results of the chi-square test, the variables associated with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Solok Regency are smoking status (p-value 0.014), temperature (p-value 0.010), ventilation area (p-value 0.021), lighting intensity (p-value 0.007), and humidity (p-value 0.000), and unrelated variables are ethics when coughing / sneezing (p-value 0.950). Based on the results of the multiple logistic regression test analysis, the most dominant variable on the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis was found to be humidity with an OR = 12.824. It can be concluded that the practice of hygiene and home sanitation in general is a risk factor for the incidence of pulmonary TB.
