Abstract
Currently, Indonesia is facing a “triple burden” issue, which includes a high prevalence of stunting and wasting, as well as other nutritional problems such as obesity and micronutrient deficiencies. In Palembang City, the prevalence of stunting, wasting, and obesity is at 14.3%, 7.8%, and 5.6%, Indirectly, geographical conditions are one of the factors influencing nutritional status. This research aims to understand the mapping of stunting, wasting, and obesity occurrences in Palembang City based on its geographical conditions. This is a quantitative study with a descriptive ecological study design using secondary data, which was subsequently analyzed using QGIS software. The population in this study includes all children under 5 years old in Palembang City, with samples consisting of children under 5 years old with stunting, wasting, and obesity. The results of the research indicate that cases of stunting are predominantly found in densely populated sub-districts along the riverbanks, forming clustered patterns. Cases of wasting are frequently identified in subdistricts with limited access to markets, while cases of obesity are prevalent in areas with numerous restaurants and eateries. This mapping can identify vulnerable areas along with factors and characteristics that may influence them as an initial step in determining appropriate and efficient intervention programs and policies for each area.
