Abstract
From previous research, the portable generator in idle state (unload condition) produced maximum SPL of 86.7 dB measured around the right side of generator. This noise produced by exhaust system of generator as the muffler failed to reduce the noise (SPL>85,0B). While working fo a certain load, the generator would exert the noise withgreater SPL. Hence, this research continuoed the previous study conducted the similar methodof collecting noisy data from the generator while working under a given load condition. The data compiled was purposed for preparing fundamentals in tfie process of designing a simple enclosure with adequate acoustic characteristics. The studyhad some important points to notice. While under loading condition, the generator had producedgreater values of SPL in all directions compared to previous study. Similarly, the SPL significantly increased in the certain direction or location around the generator. Finally, this research had reached to the result that the location adjacent (x = 45 and y = 50)in right field side by side to the generator exhaust systemhad maximum SPL was 86.7 dB (under load). This result concluded that the loaded generator would produced greater noise compared to unloaded condition.
