Abstract

Internal locus of control greatly influences students' lives because it is one of the causes of academic procrastination. This research aims to determine the relationship between internal locus of control and academic procrastination of students at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. This research is quantitative research using correlational methods. The population in this study was class The sampling used was the Simple Random Sampling technique using a picker wheel. The data collection technique uses a psychological scale, namely the internal locus of control scale and academic procrastination. The research results showed that the level of internal locus of control of students was in the medium category with a percentage of 46% (37 students) and the level of procrastination was in the medium category with a percentage of 49% (39 students). Then the correlation coefficient (r) = -0.748 and sig.(2-tailed) 0.000 or <0.05, which means there is a negative relationship between internal locus of control and academic procrastination of students at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. So it can be concluded that the higher the internal locus of control, the lower the student's academic procrastination. Likewise on the contrary, the lower the internal locus of control, the higher the student's academic procrastination. It is hoped that the results of this research can become a reference for further research. Keywords: Internal Locus of Control; Academic Procrastination
