Abstract

Penelitian ini mensintesis komposit NiFe2O4/kitosan-glutaraldehid/NiO untuk mengatasi pengolahan air lilmbah tetrasiklin yang tercemar di lingkungan. NiFe2O4 untuk menurunkan band gap dan sebagai pemberi sifat magnet dan NiO sebagai fotokatalis. Kitosan-glutaraldehid digunakan sebagai coating agar NiO dan NiFe2O4 tidak bereaksi. Sintesis komposit NiFe2O4/kitosan-glutaraldehid/NiO menggunakan metode kopresipitasi dan dikarakterisasi menggunakan VSM, XRD, SEM-EDS, dan UV-Vis DRS. Hasil karakterisasi VSM menunjukkan nilai magnetisasi saturasi komposit NiFe2O4/kitosan-glutaraldehid/NiO sebesar 47,25 emu/g. Hasil karakterisasi XRD mendapatkan ukuran kristal sebesar 21,40 nm. Hasil karakterisasi SEM-EDS menunjukkan morfologi komposit yang terlapisi lebih homogen dengan ukuran kristal hampir sama dengan unsur penyusun Ni (30,07%), Fe (38,36%), dan O (19,18%). Nilai band gap hasil karakterisasi UV-Vis DRS sebesar 1,73 eV. Nilai pHpzc komposit NiFe2O4/kitosan-glutaraldehid/NiO berada pada pH 7,4. Kondisi optimum degradasi tetrasiklin berada pada konsentrasi 10 mg/L larutan terasiklin di pH 3 dan waktu degradasi selama 105 menit dengan persentase penurunan tetrasiklin sebesar 99%. Hasil analisa TOC pada larutan tetrasiklin 10 mg/L sebelum degradasi sebesar 4,04 mg/L dan setelah degradasi sebesar 2,57 mg/L dengan persen penurunan kadar karbon sebesar 36,38%.
