Abstract

For Indonesia, Chile is among the top five trading partner countries with the highest export value in the South American region. However, Chile's export value is still far behind that of Mexico and Brazil. Apart from this, the value of Indonesia's exports to Chile has experienced a significant increase in 2021-2022. The large potential of Chile as an importing country for Indonesian products, the intense competition for products in the Chilean market, and the increase in the value of exports from Indonesia to Chile in 2021-2022, encourage the urgency of researchers to examine the strategies used by ITPC Santiago in carrying out Indonesian commercial diplomacy to Chile in 2021 -2022. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The concept used in this research is the concept of commercial diplomacy by Evan Potter. Based on this concept, ITPC Santiago carries out trade promotion and advocacy for the national business community in its main activities (business objectives) and carries out market intelligence, networking and public relations, and problem solving in supporting activities (government objectives). This indicates that this institution carries out activities that are more focused on its government strategy.
