Abstract

This study aims to describe the low interest in entrepreneurship of Economic Education students, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education for the 2017 – 2019 Academic Year. This research uses data collection techniques, namely interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. In general, writer concluded that the cause of the low interest in entrepreneurship of economic education students for the academic year 2017 – 2019 can be measured using 5 indicators, namely Prestige, Not Confident, Lazy, Absence of Capital, Difficulty Dividing Time, Fear of Failure. Of the 5 indicators, prestige is an indicator where social perceptions that consider the teaching profession more prestigious than being an entrepreneur make students tend to choose the conventional path as teachers rather than entrepreneurship. Based on this research, it is expected that the implementation of entrepreneurship and business plan courses is not only theoretical but must be more directed at practice in order to further motivate students in entrepreneurship.
