Abstract

The research is entitled "Social Capital in the Sao Bae Tradition in the Seriguna Village Community, Teluk Gelam District, OKI Regency". The main problem discussing how social capital in the Sao Bae tradition is in the people of Seriguna Village, Teluk Gelam District, OKI Regency. This research aims to find out and understand social capital in the Sao Bae tradition in the people of Seriguna Village, Teluk Gelam District, OKI Regency. The research method used in this research is qualitative. The data collection carried out consisted of observation, interviews, and documentation. The research data were analyzed using James Coleman's social capital theory. The results show that in implementing the Sao Bae tradition as social capital, two types of trust were found, in the form of general trust and special trust. The form of social network in this tradition is the relationships created in society at the micro and meso levels. The norms and sanctions present in this research are customary and social norms as well as the sanctions, namely customary sanctions and social sanctions.
