Abstract

This study was aimed to determine liquid and solid mycoinsecticide applications on population and hoppers and rice bug attack and rice predator arthropod population diversity in floodplain rice field, Pemulutan Distnct, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. Study conducted in rice field floodplain area in Pemulutan Village, Ogan Ilir, and Entomology Laboratory, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, has been carried out from April to August 2013. Randomized Block Design of four treatments and four replicates has been applied which was separated in eight sub-plots for four treatments and four replicates in every one hectare. In every sub-plot 25 sample plants were purposively chosen. These plants would be considered for population, attack, development and growth observations. Sub-plot treatments were liquid mycoinsecticide, solid compost, and commercial liquid bioinsecticide applications. Statistical data analysis results showed that hopper and rice bugs population at visual observation and liquid mycoinsecticide net, solid mycoinsecticide and commercial bioinsiecticide significantly difference compared to control. Shannon-Wiener diversity index showed that predator arthropods were active in paddy canopy and soil surface. It proved that mycoinsecticide application could increase predator arthropod diversity. treatments were The highest diversity index wass on liquid mycoinsecticide application (2,79) on 6 weeks after planting. The highest dominance index (0.88) was on commercial bioinsecticide. The highest evenness index (0.89) was found also on commercial bioinsecticide treatment when paddy was one week after. On soil surface observation the highest diversity index (1.33) was found on liquid mycoinsecticide treatment when paddy was one week after planting. The highest dominance index (0.55) was found on liquid mycoinsecticide when paddy was 6 weeks after planting. The highest evenness index (1.21) was found on liquid mycoinsecticide when paddy was one week after planting. On rice field applied mycoinsecticide there was no significant different for every treatment. Conclusions of this study were mycoinsecticide applications applied could suppress hoppers and rice bug population; increase and gave positive impact on predator arthropod diversity index; and increase paddy yield production in Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir.
