Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of liquid and solid preparations containing B. bassiana against the abundance and diversity of species of predatory insects on rice ratun with different age levels in tidal rice fields in South Sumatra. This research was conducted in the village of Mulya Sari Banyuasin district. Identification is done in the laboratory of Entomology Insect Pest and Plant Pathology Department Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University Indralaya. The study was implemented ffom February to July 2013. This study used a field experiment in a paddy field area of 3 hectares which divided into 3 plots. Activities undertaken in the study by applying Iiquid and solid preparations of B. bassiana. Treatment for each land is a land of B. bassiana applied solid dosage and liquid 100 kg 2 L; solid dosage applied field B B. bassiana 100 kg and 2 L of liquid bio-fertilizers; land C solid dosage applied B. bassiana 100 kg and liquid biofertilizer + 2 L liquid 2.5 L of B. bassiana. The results showed that the predatory insects active in the plant canopy is 5 Order Coleoptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera, Odonata, and Ortoptera. Insect predators are active at ground level there are 3 Order Coleptera, Hymenoptera, and Ortoptera. The highest abundance for ordo coleoptera and ortoptera active on plant canopy is 100. The highest abundance on surface soil is 92,31 of ordo Hymenoptera. The highest insect predator abundance on plant canopy was Micrapis inops species and on the surface soil was Polyrachis sp. species. Insect predator relative decrease in harvest and post harvest. The highest diversity on the plant canopy is 2,24 in 3 days after cutting. The highest insect predator abundance is 1,84 in 75 days after cutting. Diversity of insect predators are relatively different in the three fields are applied to the preparation B. basssiana.
