Abstract

Composite material is a combination of two or more dijferent materials , both metallic and non- metallic, so the blend of these materials to form a new material that has special properties, polyester resin particles is one of the composite material , which serves as a polyester resin matrix , while the natural sand particles serves as an amplifier, composite material produced from a combination of polyester resin and the particles are expected to have a minor nature , compressive strength , high impact strength, and resistance to absorption of large, Improved mechanical properties has been proven through research done and will make use of composite materials polyester resin sand particles become more widespread, due to the properties of composite materials such as those held In this study the authors conducted a tensile testing, impact testing with a ratio of volume fraction of reinforcement with a polyester resin sand to 5 % variation of 95 % sand matrix amplifier , the amplifier is 10 % sand 90 % matrix , 15 % sand 85 % reinforcement matrix, 20 % sand amplifier 80 % matrix. The optimum conditions obtained in this study is the comparison of the variation occurs in 20 % volume fraction of 80% sand matrix amplifier is a tensile stress of28.37 N/ mm 2, tensile strain of 22,94 % and the value of the price impact of0.949 J / mm 2.
