Abstract

Abstract Early marriage has become a complex social phenomenon and has an impact on family life, especially in the context of economic resilience. This study aims to analyze the economic resilience of families in early marriage in Pengaringan village, Pagaralam, South Sumatra. This research was conducted through a qualitative approach with an analytic descriptive study. The data analysis technique is carried out by collecting data, then reducing the data in accordance with the limits and objectives that have been determined by the researcher to be able to present (display) the data, then the last one is verified and conclusions are drawn in order to get appropriate and accurate data in accordance with the research objectives. The results show that the family income aspect of early marriage actors is only enough to fulfill their daily needs and it is very difficult to save money, besides that the family residence is mostly still dependent on parents/in-laws. However, the findings show that all early marriage perpetrators try to set aside money to finance their children's education. Perpetrators of early marriage in Pengaringan village also do not have family financial security and generally rely on health insurance provided by the government. The implication of this research is that it provides an understanding of the state of economic resilience and preventive measures that can be taken to prevent economic problems in those who marry at an early age. The complexity of economic problems faced by families involved in early marriage, as discussed in this study, can be used as a study to find solutions to the problem of early marriage in Indonesia.
