Abstract

This study was to see the influence of micro control in balancing water level in the canal and on land, as well as analyzing the relationship between the difference in water level in the tertiary, quarter canal, on land using subsurface water management systems (subsurface), and land using worm canal (control). This research was conducted in an area of reclaimed tidal swamp land Delta Telang II Banyu Urip Village P17-6S Tanjung Lago Sub-district, Banyuasin District of South Sumatra. This research used survey method that was direct observation in the field. Observed variabels consisted of canal dimension, water level on tertiary, quarter canal and on land which used subsurface and worm canal. This activity was conducted every day at 07 to 08 a.m. Based on the result of reseach showed that water level in land using subsurface canal generally was higher than in land using worm canal (control), which was 40 — 101 cm. That was influenced by adding canal depth and cover pipe which applicated on quarter canal. Based on the result, setting of water gate on tertiary canal in position 20 degree constantly could balancing water level on tertiary canal, which was 43 - 47 cm or (78 - 87 cm ffom subsurface). It could be optimal because supported by applicated water system concept 2 ways which was adding water gate on tertiary canal of General Drainage Canal (Saluran Drainase Umum/ SDU), so that the water level controlled was easier on land by water gate (cover pipe) which applicated between tertiary and quarter canal.
