Abstract

The Campus Health Center still has cases of TB RO and patients who have dropped out of treatment, although the percentage is no more than 10%, but these cases need to be a matter of concern as they can lead to increased cases of TB MDR patients, infection, relapse, and even death. Therefore, researchers want to know the effectiveness of monitoring carried out by home visit and whatsapp of the perception of community health center officers and PMO TB at the Palembang City Campus Health Center. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection through observation, interviews, and document review. Based on the result of the research it is known that the human resources involved consisted of doctors, nurses, laboratory officers, and TB cadres or PMO. Funding for monitoring by home visits based on SOP issued by the Head of Campus Health Center, while whatsapp has no SOP. The equipment required for monitoring via whatsapp only by handphone, for home visit need an N95 mask; gloves; scales; stethoscope; tensimeter; and a sputum pot as well as name stamp. Obstacles for monitoring officers include patients who cannot be met, rejection from the RT, patients who stop the treatment, and patients who don’t give a whatsapp number and don’t respond to messages and calls from officers. According to research informants the current monitoring system is good enough, but improvement are needed as there are still cases of TB RO and patients who have dropped out of treatment.
