Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the growth and the production of sweet sorghum which was fertilized with different doses of the chicken manure at dry land. The research was conducted from February 2014 until May 2014 at Agro Techno Park (ATP). The experimental design used was Split Plot Design, with the main plot was three varieties (Numbu, Kawali, and Mandau) and the sub plot was doses of manure (0 tons ha-1, 5 tons ha-1, 10 tons ha-1, 15 tons ha-1, 20 tons ha-1). The results showed that different varieties of sweet sorghum gave significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, panicle length, weight of 100 seeds and stem dry weight. The application of different doses of chicken manure gave significant effect on stem diameter and brix sugar content. Numbu variety had the best growth and the highest yield (6,19 kilograms). The best treatment of fertilized was 5 tons ha-1 of chicken manure.
