Abstract

The objectives of this research were to determine the com growth , Nitrogen absorb, Nitrogen leached and dose of liquid fertilizer and types of soil texture on Com. This research has been conducted in the Glass Home and analysed in the Laboratory Soil of Chemical, Biological and Fertility in Soil Science Department Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya Univeristy. This research carried put ffom January to April 2014. This research used Factorial Randomized Completely design (RCD) with two factors. The first factor was dose of liquid fertilizer, which consists of 5 levels : control (0 ml), Pi (10 ml), P2 (20 ml), P3 (30 ml) and P4 (40 ml), while the second factor was the soil texture which consists of 2 types of texture : Ti (sandy loam) and T2 (sandy clay). Every treatment combination was repeated 3 times, so the total of treated soils were 5x2x3 = 30 treatment. Observed variables measured were plant height, number of leaves, Nitrogen absorb and Nitrogen leached. The results showed that liquid fertilizer with a dose of 40 ml (P4) have better effects on growth than other dosage. The highest Nitrogen absorb contained in the dose of 10 ml (Pi) on sandy clay (T2). However, a dose of 20 ml (P2) has Nitrogen leached levels were high for both types of soil texture. So that, in this research a doses of 40 ml (P4) of liquid fertilizer (Pj) is the appropriate dose to increase the growth of com and and a dose of 10 ml (Pi) of an appropriate dose to increase Nitrogen absorb and decrease Nitrogen leached.
