Abstract
A research with aim at knowing the suitability of araceous plant as host of Pentalonia nigronervosa was conducted from June to August 2014 in the Laboratory Bacteriology Departement of plants Pest and Disease, Sriwijaya University. The research was arranged in a Block Randomized Design (RAK) with 15 treatment and 4 replications. The parameters observed were imago population, population of winged and population of nymphs of P. nigronervosa. The result showed that Caladium bicolor white, Colocasia antiqorum, Xanlhosoma sagitifolium, Colocasia burgundy slem, Caladium bicolor at dark, Caladium bicolor carazon, Caladium bicolor freida hample, and Caladium bicolor found were potential host of P. nigronervosa with average imago aphid population ranged from 127 to 53,75 per plant. For winged imago and nymph, all treatments were not significantly different. The aphid distribution on the host plant, the aphid prefered base stem of the host plant (60 %) and stem (27 %) showed by the number of feeding aphid and the number of colony in the areas.
