Abstract

In the realm of technology, metal is an important element, considering that almost every aspect of life today uses metal elements. There are many metals that can be found, one of which is aluminum. One of the aluminum alloys most widely used in the world of machinery is the 6061 series aluminum alloy. In its application, the material will of course receive mechanical loads. Repeated loads cause fatigue in the material and damage occurs. Fatigue or fatigue is a failure in a structure that occurs from dynamic loads that continuously fluctuate below the yield strength over long and repeated periods of time. To change and increase the strength of the mechanical properties of a material, heat treatment can be done. This research uses experimental methods and analysis of data collection on the influence of variations in heat treatment temperature with a temperature range of 150℃, 200℃ and 250℃ for aluminum alloy 6061. The parameters use bending fatigue testing with variations in the angle of bending, namely 2° (0.698 mm) , 3° (1,048 mm), and 4° (1,398 mm). Where the test objects from the three angles are added together and then the average value is calculated, the result is that test objects with heat treatment (HT) 150℃, 200℃, and 250℃ respectively experienced an increase in cycles of 5.75%, 18.84% and 11.11% compared to test specimens without heat treatment. Keywords: Keywords: Heat treatment, aluminum alloy 6061, bending fatigue.
