Abstract

Indonesia's cultural diplomacy efforts through the Nauli Indonesia community in Germany are an important part of Indonesia's cultural promotion strategy at the international level. The Nauli Indonesia community, which consists of Indonesian students, workers, and diaspora in Germany, become cultural ambassadors who introduce the richness of Indonesian culture to the German people and strengthen relations between the two countries. This study aims to analyze the role of the Nauli Indonesia community in developing Indonesian cultural diplomacy in Germany. The research method used is qualitative analysis, by studying various activities carried out by the Nauli Indonesia community, such as cultural festivals, art performances, seminars, and cooperation with German cultural institutions. The results of the analysis show that the Nauli Indonesia community has succeeded in becoming an agent of change in promoting Indonesian culture in Germany through various activities they carry out. They not only introduce Indonesian traditional arts, culinary, and crafts, but also expand the understanding of Indonesia as a multicultural and creative country. However, the challenges faced by the Nauli Indonesia community also need to be considered, such as maintaining cultural identity in the midst of a culturally different environment, as well as fulfilling the need for support and facilities to develop their cultural activities in Germany. This research provides a deeper understanding of the role of the Nauli Indonesia community in Indonesian cultural diplomacy in Germany, as well as providing recommendations to improve the effectiveness of cultural diplomacy efforts in the future.
