Abstract

Lead is one of the most common heavy metal elements found in waters but is very harmful to human health and the environment, especially lead with oxidation numbers II and IV. Sectors that produce lead in waters are the industrial manufacturing and mining sectors. Several types of adsorbents have been developed for lead adsorption in waters, but they are still limited in sensitivity, selectivity and small adsorption capacity. Adsorbents with low adsorption ability are the basis for researchers to synthesize adsorbents with high adsorption ability, namely nanofiber IIPs-Pb(II). Nanofiber IIPs-Pb(II) was synthesized using voltage variation in electrospinning. Based on the SEM characterization results, the most cavities were obtained in NF-IIPs-Pb(II) synthesized using 13 kV voltage as many as 3991 cavities. These results are supported by material adsorption tests using a 30 ppm 100 mL test solution, then AAS characterization is carried out and the largest adsorption capacity is obtained on NF-IIPs-Pb(II) synthesized using a 13 kV voltage of 30 mg/g.
