Abstract

Evaluasi lahan merupakan proses analisis yang bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi karakteristik, potensi, dan kesesuaian suatu area lahan untuk berbagai tujuan penggunaan. Keseuaian lahan adalah kecocokan sebidang lahan untuk penggunaan tertentu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sifat fisik tanah (tekstur, drainase, dan konsis efektif kedalaman tanah) dan kimia tanah (pH, KTK, N-total, P₂O₅ tersedia dan K₂O) dalam hubungannya dengan penilaian kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman Karet di Kebun Percobaan Unit Riset Sungei Putih. Penelitian ini dilakasanakan pada bulan Januri 2024, metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode survei (observasi langsung kelapangan) tingkat semi detail dengan skala 1 : 25.000. Dengan luas areal penelitian adalah 6 hektar dengan jumlah titik 6 pengamatan yang berjarak 1 hektar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahawa kesesuaian lahan aktual untuk tanaman karet rata-rata sudah termasuk kedalam kelas kesuaian lahan S1, hanya saja pada hara tersedia (na) dengan faktor pembatas ini yaitu P₂O₅ termasuk kedalam kategori S3 (Tidak Sesuai), pada sampel 3 dan 6. Tentunya faktor pembatas tersebut dapat dilakukan perbaikan sesuai dengan kondisi yang ada, maka kesesuaian lahan potensial berpotensi menjadi S2 bahakan S1.
