Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the effect of giving organic fertilizers and sulfur on the NDF, ADF and Hemicellulosa content of King Grass (Pennisetum purpurepho ides) with their interaction. This research was conducted from January to June 2005 at Balai Pembibitan Ternak Unggul Sapi Dwiguna dan Ayam Sembawa. The research using block random i zed design factorial mode with 2 factors as treatments. The first factor was organic fertilizers which divide into 3 level : 0 ton/ha (Ko), 5 ton/ha (Ki), 10 ton/ha (K2). Second factor was sulfur which divide into 4 level: 0 kg S/ha (S0), 30 kg S/ha (S,), 60 kg S/ha (S2), and 90 kg S/ha (S3). It comprises of 12 treatments with 3 groups so there were 36 treatments units. Observed parameters were NDF, ADF and Hemicellulosa contents. The result of this research showed that the treatment resulted significantly differences to NDF, ADF and Hemicellulosa contents. The conclusion of this reseach showed that treatment with organic fertilizer 5 ton/ha and sulfur 90 kg S/ha give the low result in NDF, ADF and giving organic fertilizer 10 ton/ha and sulfur 0 kg S/ha give the low result in hemisellulosa of King Grass {Pennisetum purpurepho ides).
