Abstract

The demand for rice as a staple food continues to increase, and if this demand is not balanced by the availability of sufficient rice in Indonesia, it will cause considerable problems. Changes in climate patterns will cause many problems at this time and in the future. This study aims to determine the accessions T1 and TR1 in BC2F3 resulting from the crossing of rice varieties Inpago 5 with Inpara 8 that have high growth and production. The research was carried out in the lebak swamp land located in Ibul Besar II Village, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. This study used a Randomized Blok Design (RBD) with accession T1, accession TR1, Inpara 8 and Inpago 5 consisted of 3 replications, each of which contained 96 plants. Data obtained from observations and measurements were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Furthermore, to determine the best accessionteartnenb is determined using the least significant difference test (BNT) at the 5% level to see the differences between accessions/varieties and one sample t-test to compare accession T1 and accession TR1 with Inpara 8. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that accession T1 and accession TR1 in general can grow well in the condition of lebak swamp land that experiences drought at the beginning of growth and flooding before harvest. Accession T1 has higher production than accession TR1. Accession T1 and accession TR1 showed results that were not significantly different from their parents Inpago 5 and Inpara 8 in all variables except for the variables of plant height, number of grains per panicle, weight of grain per panicle, number of filled grains per panicle, weight of grain per clump showing accessions T1 and TR1 were significantly higher than Inpago 5 and Inpara 8, while in the variable number of total tillers and number of productive tillers Inpago 5 was significantly higher than accession T1 and accession TR1 and in the variable number of total tillers Inpara 8 was significantly higher than accession T1 and accession TR1.
